dont know the exact mileage as i rotate 3 different pairs, but id guess my oldest one is on about 800km and starting to look very worn.

my wife's first reaction was to ask if this place is legit because the prices are so good.

I've become that guy that goes to the local shop to fit the shoes, then log on to Poobie's top see if they have stock...   Not unlike my cycle-shopping...

On Asics I normally get 800 to 900km, then you start feeling it.

I also started running. :) Bought myself a pair of Asics Nimbus Gel. Only doing very short distances now. In total for the past few weeks 18km.:). I guess I am safe for a while then.

I'm very disappointed in my previous nike Pegasus +32. Only got about 650km, and after that I could hear and feel its finished.

Previous Pegasus shoes would last much much longer.

I use Nimbus, I've had Mk 13 and I'm on my second pair of 17's with around 200km to go before they need replacing. It's a neutral shoe, so may not be good for you, but if you're a neutral runner, these are the bomb. I keep my old running shoes for hiking etc. and I alway wonder why they're getting replaced(I replace @ 700km, I weigh over 90kg, so they take a pounding), because they look new. That is until I try the new ones...

Get a pro to scope you out and they'll advise accordingly.

EDIT:

Just checked out Poobie Naidoo, R1,200 for a pair of Nimbus 17's? That's crazy cheap. I use my Discovery Miles and discount to buy my shoes, with vouchers etc. The last pair of Asics was listed at R2,200, I only paid R600 out of my pocket after discounts and Discovery Miles, so Poobie's still expensive there.

Next year you will be able to get shoes on Discovery with the shoe booster they are introducing, so can save your disco miles for something else :)
