From a guy that knows a bit about rough sprinting..

This from Robbie McEwan on Twitter

"I’ve now been able to watch the replay of the sprint a few times. Sagan deserves DQ on that one. Hope @MarkCavendish is ok. That was heavy."

The big question is whether Sagz will be asked to leave the race

DQ

I am thinking Renshaw and the fine execution of the head butt

Be honest with yourself. Not ever gonna happen. If some low key Wanty rider did it, maybe. But not Sagan. Too valuable.

Cavendish was already falling when Sagan elbow came out. In my opinion, holding his line and nothing more.

Clearly both chose a gap that wasn't quite big enough for 2.

Hope Cavendish is okay and continue.

Hope Sagan is allowed to continue

He followed that up with this

Take a look at @mcewenrobbie's Tweet: https://twitter.com/mcewenrobbie/status/882266296049700865?s=09

Elbow of Sagan came after initial contact & didn’t touch Cav but the damage was done

Look at 2nd pic. Cavendish already sideways in falling motion. Elbow not up yet, only up later.

Unlucky all round.

And I am a Cavendish fan.

Just looked at it again in real speed. Sagan came right across the road and took Cavendish out.. whether it was his elbow that caused Mark to fall or whether he pushed him into the barrier I am not sure but he caused the crash.

Well beside the relegation and losing 30p for 2nd he has also been docked 50p. .Eina.. doubt he'll be using elbows again.. [emoji53]

So Sagan is now all the way down in 23rd place in the green jersey competition with only 15 points. Ouch.
