The question is whether it was an "aggressive" elbow or a " to stay upright" elbow ?

Lets just hope Cavendish is fine to continue....

Jissie different angles show different things... what n gemors.. will have to wait for the riders and more footage before I k@k Sagan out.

One angle shows Cav trying to move over then getting the elbow..then one shows the angle of going down after the elbow. . Then one shows Cav coin on with his head on sagan and then getting the elbow.

One thing is sure there was an elbow

Ja .. will have to watch it over and over and get the overhead view.. there was very little space there. Not sure if he was already losing his balance or if the elbow cause the loss of balance.. looks like Sagan kept his line.. but very hard to see.

On the slow-mo that look deliberate. If we call boohani we gotta call Sagz. #notcool

Big Sagan fan, but I fear that he was not completely innocent there. Cavendish was following DeMare who clearly had acres of space to get by Sagan, so Cavendish was entitled to think he can follow the same line. But Sagan moved over and closed the gap.

Very grey area this sprinting thing.

No matter repurcussions or not, it seems like Dimension Data's Plan A is out the window with Cavendish. Question is, what is their plan B?

Those red cushion thingies are also a hindrance hey...

Or what?

i think they are stupid to have them jutting out like that . But could of cushioned Cav's fall a bit.

Elbowing is one thing... Elbowing when you know its sending the other rider into the barriers is entirely another...

"Greipel was angry with me but I don't know why, you'd have to ask him," says Sagan.

My colleague Brecht Decaluwe has asked him, and has sent this update from the Lotto bus. "Greipel mad at Sagan because he doesn't follow the rules, thinks he's the king. Also caused trouble in the intermediate sprint."

More on that to come...
