Rocket-Boy Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 Was that not cries of joy? He seemed to think he had won the stage[emoji15]Those were tears of joy, he only found out when he was being interviewed that he had not won the stage.
Pah Bear Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 Like the comments made re downhill attacks. With the change in route and the lessor mountain top finishes, many riders (if they as pro as they profess to be) would have been eye balling all possibilities and those downhills obviously made sense. The fact that the AG2R team is based in that town and obviously knew that descent bend in and bend out was a major asset for them and it showed. That whole squad was like hares down that descend.
'Dale Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 He is a big Contador fan, and I think yesterday was a decisive moment in his career. So maybe just dealing with that still. Must be sad to see Contador as a shadow of his old self. Yeah, Berto had it all set up with two of his teammates ahead so he could bridge and attack very effectively from that platformHe remarked that 'the legs were not there' End of an era, most likely

He surely can't be missing Val that much?
Rocket-Boy Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 So with all those fast and sketchy downhills did anyone see Thibaut Pinot anywhere?
Pah Bear Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 Shame it must have been pretty hard for Contador realising he just doesnt have the firepower that the newer youngsters have anymore. He's only like 2 years older (34) than Froome and Richie.

He surely can't be missing Val that much?It might be the curse of going hard in too many grand tours. There was a lot of people pointing out that Froome hasnt won anything special leading up to the tour and that he had won lots of races before previous tours. Seems he is peaking at the right time though and doing just fine at the moment.
Rocket-Boy Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 He's only like 2 years older (34) than Froome and Richie. That is true but in terms of being up at that level he has been around for a lot longer than them. The last two tours have not been the Contador of old and its sad to see him not trying to crack the rest like he used to, these days he just seems to hang on as long as he can and then goes out the back door.
Gen Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 He's only like 2 years older (34) than Froome and Richie.A lot more kilos in the legs though, been going at GC for a very long time. It's time for Bert to hang up his TDF shoes and possibly all his shoes. Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk

Furbz Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 before yesterday i was actually excited at the Aru prospect.i was really hoping he would put up a good fight making the tour more exciting. now, after attacking in a most ungentlemanly fashion i'm upset it was Porte that went down instead of Aru
