Glad the OP is sorted out.

Questions remain around what circumstances led to him to raise the situation on social media.

All good.

5: 6 Things not to do on the Hub:

1: Recommend anybody but Bogus for paint work.

2: Say something bad about CWC, even if they were wrong. (3 times)

3: Make a joke about Giants.

4: Tell somebody about how to raise their kids and which movies they can take them too.

5: Try and be rational.

Edit 6: Knock vertical shocks.... Jeeesus, how could I forget. Skies.

My nose is burning, coffee came flying out of it :(

Dare I say it, but Oom Chris is the Donald Trump of the hub...

Hey, free speech and all ... but that's unfair. He doesn't subscribe to "Orange is the new Black".

Respect...

No excuses, no BS. Just a honest straight answer. That in itself speak volumes.

Big up to CWC for manning up.

I love these okes, I see him in a bar, give him 3 slaps to the face but as long as I buy him a round afterwards and apologise without trying to justify my actions he's good as gold, laaik no leke bru.

Yep, cos only on the hub, can you have sales staff not attend to your issue to your expectation and suddenly you're in a bar taking multiple punches in the face, but they then put new conti treads on your shoes and it's like they bought you a round and everyone is all smiles.... Kief ekse!!!!

it should of been dealt with one of the three times the op went in to the shop. Glad it's sorted ,but what if BH or a similar platform didn't exist ? Then what ? I feel for the op had the same run around for 3 months from a main player until i started a thread about them on the hub. No one defended them, in fact completely the opposite.

It got resolved ,But the principle is the same !

What rounds are we talking about here? GP4000s? Because Castles probably ain't gonna cut it.

So, how many people did he forget to deal with who didn't raise an issue on the hub? Also, the OP was under the impression that CWC had told him to take a hike, so why didn't he know that someone was sending pics to the agents? Sounds to me like the okes are making it sound better than it is, or the OP is missing some info.

Also, really scary when the store manager is not empowered to make the call. If you don't trust the guy to make a call like this, then why trust him to run your business?

This comment reminds me of a bar visit in Brakpan once, where this spanner pushed me on the chest screaming "Ar you checking out my tjerrie?!" To which I replied: "Of course not, I'd never do that!" To which he replied: "So, ar she not hot enough for you's then?!"

Hi

I had the same problem with the same wheels bought at my LBS in Europe.

They replaced them, no questions asked.

Hope that helps

Hi all.

So I am in search of an opinion from you guys. I bought some wheels, Shimano RS81 C24 wheels, in June 2016 (so basically 5 months ago). I have not been riding much and put around 1,500 km on them. On a recent ride I noticed some damage around the nipples on the rim (see the pictures) that seems to have been caused by corrosion or the carbon bubbling. I was naturally upset about this as I have never seen something like this and I am normally careful with my things. I took it back to CWC for a warranty claim but they said it's normal wear and tear and thus not a warranty claim. I went back again and they said they will come back to me, but I have not hear anything again. (I even went back for a 3rd time).

I understand damage like this could occur after a few years, but I find it extreme to happen in such a short period of time. I have used multiple Mavic and other Shimano wheels with no problem over several years. I also had a google to see if there is more people with this issue and came to a BikeRadar forum where I guy had the same problem on a C24 DA wheel (basically the same rim, just a different hub) and his was replaced, as well as a person's commenting on the forum. So I find it reasonable to claim under warranty. [The forum - ]http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=13064084]

Please let me know your thoughts and opinions as I am trying to understand if I am reasonable or not. This is not to slander CWC at all, just to understand if I have a warranty claim that they aren't helping me with.

Note: I have had great experiences with CWC in the past, hence my disappointment in how the matter is dealt with this time. I am just asking an opinion here, not trying to offend.

Thanks

[update - For those joining later. This was a to and from, ultimately a warranty claim and replacement done by CWC. They apologized to me and publicly here, so all is good in the world again.]

Because no matter what the eventual outcome, it would not have been acceptable to you. In bussiness, as in life, you get it wrong sometimes. What is way more important is how you respond to the eventuality of making a mistake.

As a business owner (for 26 years)...the way  I would have resolved this issue.

I would have couriered the new wheel set with the tyres as they have now promised at my cost and arranged to collect the damaged ones...taken the knock and written it off as shrinkage or whatever...or sorted it out with the supplier.

Sent my team for training to prevent this happening in the future...and to equip them to handle these situations.

and sorted out the website issues...there is nothing worse than ordering something and it is not what is shown in the picture...thank goodness i contacted CWC and asked the salesman to go physically look at the item...which he did then had to apologize  because it was not the item in the picture...thank goodness due to past experiences i checked first.
