A trip or two to the reserve will sort that out - although the elevation gain on this event is misleading. Lots of undulations, and some steep gradients but lots of bumps below 4% (yellow and green bands).

Those bumps start hurting after a long day..

I'm a tentative (and silent) maybe. Will need to see how things go next week. Being a full-time bum, I have obligations. I had schedu8led couch time for the 18th.

Couch time ??

Give the circuits a break next week and come join us

The bumps are early on. Need to work on being good for 130km. The last bit is quick and your momentum takes you over those bumps.

Providing there still is momentum after all those bumps lol

I'm on "I want to do it" as I still have to enter. Accommodation booked and training underway so the commitment is there.

I'm taking part in the team event, so it involves a bit of "How do I do it?" with my club mates. Overall, 20 interested members, with a few undecided - and 1 crazy one planning to do MalutiD90 the day before.

18th Feb.

Few our the guys from East Coast cycling will be riding the route, starting from Midmar.

We plan to be on the road from about 5-5:15 am.

Pace will be easy, guessing around 24km avg.

Come join us.

Chainsaw and I would be keen on this.  Pedal from Howick and meet at the dam (Calabash cafe' or fernhill hotel?). We will confirm soon.

I dont know the dam, haven't been there in years. Which spot will provide parking for a few cars at that hour of the morning ?
