Anyone know of bike transport service from Cape Town up to Willowmore?

Check allinevents.co.za/bookings.  Billy has transported my bike a few times for stage races.

Sorry - just realised they are currently only transporting from Gauteng for Transbaviaans.  But maybe if you email Billy they will consider doing from CT too.

Will be our third one this year and decided to go the single speed route. Going to be tough but we have settled on a 34 oval -16 tooth set up.

First time I did it with a 34-16 first 100km & swopped to a 32-19 halfway.If you don't want to swop go with a 32-18

Any group/rider needing a stand-in rider? I would be very keen to do this.

Can provide list of events I have done (it's extensive) and can be termed as competent and competitive (if necessary).

Thanks

Hi Janneman,

Planning to run a 34 oval - 14 to check point 2, from there we will be on 34 x 18 or 20. At berg plaas back to 34 oval x 16 for the final drag.

Help a first timer please, better to fly to George or PE?

What is the plan regarding getting to Willowmore and home after the race?

PE would probably be the better overall bet.

Fly down on Friday, collect rental and drive to Willowmore.

Use car shuttle

Collect car at finish, find accom

Drive back to airport late Sunday

In that case PE for sure. Much shorter drive from J-Bay after a couple of hours in the saddle and almost 24 hours awake. Difference to Willowmore from each not thaaaat much.

My pleasure, the shorter the drive needed after Trans the better...

We did a 22 hour once and still had to drive to Bloem on the Sunday. Not to be recommended.

Remember to specify the shuttle-driver. The rental lads can be quite demanding iro the excess should anything happen to their car.....
