SilverRider Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 I once commuted for 8 days straight. Work and housesitting during the week and housestitting and church over the weekend. Was pretty knackered on the tuesday of the second week. Decided right there to make it a rest day.
Nancy Drew Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 5 days in a row is not for sissies... That's for sure. It's tougher than I thought it would be
wildwindfr Posted May 13, 2017 Posted May 13, 2017 Hi. Just came across this. I also commute. Try and do 3 days a week. Did only 2 days this week, 75km. About 16km one way. Sometimes take longer route back, about 25km. Log on average 150 to 200km per week if I commute more. Most I have done was 6 days straight when my dad used my car. Tough. Hats of to all.

Bateleur1 Posted May 16, 2017 Posted May 16, 2017 Hit the deck this morning on a slippery road. Luckily no serious damage to the bike and other than a few scratches I only ended bruised ego and shoulder. A co-worker asked if he can join me on my commute tommorow. It would be his first commute for the year. Looking forward to a nice easy ride along the river into town. Just what the doctor ordered for the bruises to heal.

Thanks. 35 km depending on the selected route. Yip the moisture in the air was quite something this morning. Nice and sunny but lots of dew so the road surfaces were pretty wet.

Bateleur1 Posted May 16, 2017 Posted May 16, 2017 For a couple of minutes this morning I was leading again .... then no. 1 loads his ride and I am back down to no. 2 The top three is very close. It is long way for me to try and catch up. But I hope to get to 6th this week.

Totally forgot to change the ride from sport to transport. But think Willem might well overtake me this week if i don't ride till Friday.
Flemish Lion Posted May 16, 2017 Posted May 16, 2017 For a couple of minutes this morning I was leading again .... then no. 1 loads his ride and I am back down to no. 2 I'm leading on Strava It takes a while for the body to get used to consecutive days of riding... when I started I was exhausted by the end of the week... 2 years + later I did 1,500km in 63 hrs (mainly mtbike) in April and rode every day of the month. Commuting has helped my training and racing a lot - we finished 29th on GC at Sani2c and 3rd mixed. I hope the roasties aren't too bad Bateleur1!
