Thanks! Looks very nice. Don't have much experience with Cannondale service. Some people have said the lefty is expensive to maintain and Cannondale is like an on-going investment. Then again, some people don't know what the hell they're talking about. Myself included.

I wouldn't part with 15k for any 26 no matter how well specced and this could do a lot better IMO. 26ers , like it or not , do not hold value in SA . The market wants 29er and that's what's sells so 26 inch isn't in demand and therefore holds value poorly . Imagine how little you will get for this bike in another 3 years when everyone is riding 32 inch wheels ????

Do you buy a bike with the idea of selling it a bit down the line?

Commitment issues, upgradeitis or do you just burn money.

Besides, if you buy a second hand 26er someone else has already taken the knock.

Lastly, I'll rather ride a nice 26er, than an average 29/27.5 bike. At the budget the OP is looking at he'll get a kief 26er, but not much if he buys new or bigger wheels.

Exactly. Resale value isn't what gets you hooked on a bike. It's reasonable to be concerned about it. But I'm not buying something to get rid of it. I could get a 3k bike for that purpose.

If anything, I'm worried about not being able to replace parts and build wheels in the future. But that doesn't seem to be an issue. I hope...

I haven't actually viewed the bike so I'm just going on pics & specs. May see it on Thursday. I know very little, which is why I'm asking about it. It's more the 26" thing that bothers me. The comments are fair tho. You can't buy &^%! for that new.

Whats bothering about the 26"? Think for yourself, are you going to do technical sections more than straights? Do you want the benefits of a 29" over the benefits of a 26"? Simply tick the boxes, make your choice and then commit. I did the same when I bought my 26" and never looked back

Easy solution, buy a 26 and 29er, problems solved! You are sorted for whatever terrain comes your way.

Next question, hardtail or soft-tail, hmmm... Got it, get both! What about the 26 in a soft tail and a 29er in hardtail. Or two of both!

Arrgghhh, gonna have to build that extra garage I need sooner rather than later and will need to employ the 1 and a half year old to earn some pocket money for daddy's addiction(grappie julle)
