Where can I get tyres for 26 DH bike

Hey Guys

I stopped riding DH, probably around 4 years ago after I crashed and broke my wrist and my bike. My wrist healed but I never got around to fixing my my bike. I am now keen to get back into doing a bit of DH riding and am busy putting my DH bike back together.

One issue I am having is finding 26 in DH tyres. It seems DH bikes have also now changed wheel size. Is there somewhere I can still buy 26 in tyres? I popped into Freewheel cycology, Olympic cycles and Bridge cycles and they don't seem to stock any 26 in tyres but not sure if they ever stocked DH equipment.

I currently have maxxis minions and high rollers installed and would probably replace with the same tyres if available but am also open to try something else if needed.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

On a separate note I will probably need new tires for my 26 in XC bike at some time but that is less urgent as I have two sets with very little wear on them. Any recommendations for this will also be welcome.

Stoke Suspension Works has stock of normal size tyres.

Yep, we've got a few options for you and a few more we can order in. PM me or pop in if you're interested.

Thanks for the response guys. I will go check out Stoke suspension works. I have heard them recommended for other stuff also so probably worth popping in.

Ill keep CRC as a backup plan. I have used them for components and a couple of times and have been happy with the service but I am told customs sometimes slaps big import duties on bicycle tyres.

Last time I checked in Olympic cycles they had quite a big selection of heavy (non folded) 26" DH specific tires. They were hanging on hooks on the wall behind the big shelf at the far back end of the store. You need to be a little insistent and go sniff around, sometimes the sales staff don't even know it's there.

Paid 0 on my last set of tyres I received last week.

But the amount I spent was marginal. Not sue if duties are applicable over certain values?

It would seem the Vredestein Bobcat is available in 26x2.35. Not a DH tyre but can do in Enduro if it your tyre of choice.
