I missed that discussion.There were quite a bit of discussions about it on a few forums.The design is a single pivot with the brakes located on the seat stay. Some speculated it was a way to avoid patent infringements/paying royalties to Spez for their horst-link.Whether the design works in practice and the effects thereof is even noticeable - it's a compromise from a design/theoretical point of view.
