so it seems you need to 'build a relationship' with your LBS to get decent service. Otherwise you get ignored like a stop sign.

yes 'certain LBS in Sunningdale area', I'm still waiting for the promised call back to let me know about the ESI's I wanted. Two weeks and tick-tock-tick-tock...

oops, it's not Friday yet.

The Sunningdale one? Or the one I mentioned?

oh so the thread should be

my favorite secret LBS

The London Bike Kitchen - in London... for many reasons - NONE have anything to do with the place itself....

The shops I consider to be my LBS are - in no particular order:

Linden cycle and can do

Mikes Bikes

The Trailhead

Sprocket and Jack

oh - and I like Phia at Dirt Merchant too.... :)

You mentioned the 'Sunningdale bike shop' which wasn't giving you service.

yes that is correct.  I was promised item would be ordered and I would get a call. Never materialised so I will buy said item elsewhere.

Sorry man, no, I meant was it the shop I said I enjoyed? Or the one in Sunningdale near West Coast village?

i must admit, had great service from Concept Cyclery at Cedar Square.

Salesman was very knowledgeable and actually steered me towards a better and substantially cheaper option.

When an order was placed for an item that wasnt in stock, he followed up with me and managed to make a plan the next day to source the item and fit free of charge.

I know there is a stigma attached to Spez outlets etc but i really cant fault the service i received at that branch (and one or 2 others)

I brag about my LBS to whoever will listen! I have had absolutely the best service from Cycle Teknix in Kenilworth. They are literally up the road from me, so it is also super quick and easy to get to them. They are always so friendly, well priced, and the work they do on your bike   My baby was treated with the utmost care and love (even though she is a second hand entry level bike).  Man, I have never been happier. It's like they go out of their way to help you/advise you, and they are so happy to do it.
