Woke up at 3 am with a bout of flu. Nothing else for it but to rest an light duty.

Sorry bud. Take care of yourself, maybe use the time off to work on flexibility. I’m also down with ‘bronchial asthma’ that started as a sinus infection (think I got pool water up my nose practicing flip turns), have been off training since Tuesday; tried to self treat initially but now on strong meds, going to be another 4 days at least for me.

I think I’m going to visit a homeopath when I’m better, as I seem to be picking up chest & sinus infections, which I suspect may be initiated by allergies/allergic reactions. My optician mentioned the other day that blood type A+ is prone to allergies.

Sucks, but taking some time off because you are sick is not going to do you any harm - rather now then in a couple weeks time.

Good luck. Guess rest ain’t the worst thing.

Strange how we put ourselves under pressure to run, cycle an swim. It’s a drug, ain’t happy unless the mileage is up.

Heal up ICM and Shaper. You guys still did a good week though.

He'll build up to a 270km long ride, which he posted last year.

I just cannot understand how to get through a ride like that. Did my first 100km, alone in the wind and heat this weekend, and 3 hours in I was ready to call it a day. I think mentally those long rides are harder than anything else.

Still think a full IM is crazy distances, and it's easy to forget that at times.

Staying healthy and injury free for 12 weeks is tough. Pulled up with bursitis in my foot on saturdays run. Sore like hell and can hardly walk today. Hoping to be back running in 2 to 3 weeks. For now just rest, ice, comppression and elavate i suppose.

Major setback in training but its all part of the ironman experiance.

Look after yourselves guys and gals.
