Any cycling cause need bicycle?

I have a bicycle at home that simply isn't being used anymore, and rather than try to sell it for a fraction of it's worth I would like to donate it to a cause rather.

I would like the bike to go to an oke that would like to get into riding / racing that might not have the means to do so him/herself.

I remember a while back there was a guy here building up bikes for okes like that, but for the life of me I can't find it now.

Can any of you guys point me in the direction of such a cause?

I'm at work now, and stupidly forgot to take pics and specs of the bike, but it's a Cannondale Trail 2 medium. It's oldish, but still a great bike. I THINK it has XT at the back. Needs a good service ( and I suspect a new chain and hub service ).

Will confirm the proper specs tonight/tomorrow morning.

Bike used to belong to my dad who absolutely adored it, then to my wife who simply can't get into riding it.

Would be absolutely awesome if it can go to someone who will use it properly and lovingly.

Thanks okes.

One of our students will be glad to use it; but seeing you're in W/C maybe try to get someone there? Build-a-Bike and BOMB are both in Gauteng. You might be able to find a hubber to take it to pta.

Therussian(from bomb) was busy building bikes for some kids to participate in Spur's league last I heard

I have 2 guys that currently work on the Howick Trails. I have managed to build up a bike through own cost/old parts for the 1 but am still looking for a bike for the other. If you happy to donate it I am happy to pay transport costs and will service/replace and parts needed
