[Event] Carnival City Macsteel National Classic 2017

So I should be aiming for a 3:20 Carnival City?

Give or take a few minutes, yes.

I know of guys in DL, that scraped in at about 2:55 that did a 2:50 - 3:05 at the 947. The stronger climbers did better than the ones who find gravity a challenge.

I wanted to say, those rolling hills in the 947 helps the guys who struggle in your windy race Frosty

I do but also don't like that pressure before the start ... Traffic and queues, I'll give that a miss thanks

Because certain organisations don’t want to allow number collection on the day. The organiser understands that it is often inconvenient and is willing to offer the service.

Trust me when I say that numbers can he collected on the morning, except for licensed riders.

Hi Gerald, this is not about whether one can pick up numbers on race day (although most do cater for this. I've done RFS, Emperors, R4V, Midvaal and Meals on Wheels all which as a pre entry open seeded you could collect on race day) but about the the collection communication, the Cyclevent's and the SMS do not make mention of it, only your club website and here on the Hub is it mentioned. I belong to a number of whattsapp groups where this question keeps popping up.

I know it’s about having the information showing differently on the relevant websites, but they don’t want cyclists coming on the day to collect, so they don’t advertise it.

Registration done and dusted, nice when one of the collection points is on your doorstep. Even got a Cyclelab R50 balloon pop discount on a purchase.

For MTB'ers spoke to some mates who have ridden the trails in the area, barring any rain overnight it should be nice and dry but quite chilly if this weather holds.
