ha ha yea brilliant ....like a little child. So nothing out of the ordinary there ????....

Thanks to a few hubbers who I spoke to looking for advice,as i was torn between a few bikes and there advice swayed me to the stumpy . Which i kinda knew was the right decision but needed some perspective ????????

DO IT.

Haha! Pretty damn close to pulling the trigger actually, those are very good specs for a damn nice price...

Taking price away, how does this compare to an aluminium tallboy? Less travel 120/110 & 68 degree head angle, but as much fun? Better long term investment? Better resale if I wanted to change up in couple years>

i thought about that but as I am currently running a 130 fork already how slack would I get it. And I have experimented with a 140 for one ride and didn't like it as the front would lift on steep climbs. 130 is planted everywhere it's stupid how that 10 mm can just push it over the edge. Plus and this is probably the determining reason i am not going that route I do want to go more travel at the back as well as slacker head angle. Does that make sense ?

What about a dual position fork...

I had a pike 130mm on my first edition 5010.  when it got stolen i couldn't find the same fork second hand again, so I opted for a dual position 130/160 pike off the hub.  160mm setting makes it feel like a nomad and 130mm keeps the nose down when going up hills.  I wouldn't have specced a dual position fork specifically for the new build, but now that I have it I really like it!

130mm fork is the absolute perfect number of the tb. It's climbs like demon, stable & sure footed even in the rockiest of terrain and not matter how steep. And descends as well as bikes with more travel out back,it honestly does. In all reality it doesn't need more than 130 it's the perfect number . I was trying to make the bike something it wasn't with 140. But experimenting is part of the journey & fun.

The tb2 really is a solid solid bike. It just feels bullet proof . Comfortable riding position for all day rides and a more capable bike than the rider is. If I am honest I don't need a new bike and my quest for more travel is more curiosity than necessity. But like mm said, when you have an itch. There ain't no cure ????. Hope I don't regret this scratching ????????

I strongly considered the tb3 and probably would of gone that route or even Hightower. But boost hub's put me of. Have my Carbon wheels and don't want to go down that road, well at least not yet when I don't have to. I did t st ride a 2017 stumpy with boost and i couldn't feel the difference, and that had boost front and back.

And therein life's my predicament right now! Hahaha, do I take that at that fantastic price or shop more! :-\

sometimes you can over shop, believe me I do. I can't ever make a snap decision and sometimes to my detriment. That's a proper capable bike a steal. If that's what you are looking at . Why hesitate?
