Awesome all with the weight loss and the training. Also did not train as much as I wanted to the last 2 weeks.

I weighed myself for the first time since mid September. Only lost 0.5 kg and I am stuck on 98 kg. But then I have been naughty. Been eating rubbish the last week and a half and had a few beers.

Back on track this week though.

A good week training and even a better with the food intake . I weighed in at 108.2 KG so a total loss of 16,3 KG in 4 months . I still only do about 160km a week as time and traffic dont allow me more . I think i can attempt a 40 or 50 KM route on the weekends as i train in the mornings on a fairly quiet route . I have added a new route to my weekday rides with two longer inclines of about 800 m each so that should help my fitness level , If i can hit 105 KG before  Saturday ill attempt the 40 km Rietvlei ride on the 29th if i can enter on the day .

Enter the ride in any case

Start at the back.  Hang back while the silly ones try to win it in first 500m and cause havoc ....  Then gradually pick your way past the back markers and just have FUN.

Hoping to do a fun ride soon .... been too busy over the weekends, and missed out on some nice rides.  (at least got some nice exercise running up and down koppies with cameras)

Jinne. Well done! That is brilliant progress. Hard work and dedication is the only way.

A bit of of a mixed week training with a crash on Wednesday . A old lady took me out at about 30kph on my last lap . Lots of scraped and bruises but nothing broken . The bike is also not damaged as i managed to slide along the side of the car and then i hit the black stuff . I went for a 15 km ride on Thursday just to keep from getting to stiff . Friday and Saturday because of the bad weather i just did gym indoors . Sunday i did my usual 30km ride with a new riding partner so i realy took it easy . My weight stayed the same at 108 kg but will put some hard rides in this week and work on my food intake .

I did what i said was i going to do and that was to watch my food intake this week . I rode my usual 25 km a day and rode the OR Tambo course two laps on Wednesday .I weighed in at 107.6 kg this morning . I went for a ride with my old road buddy starting in Benoni  North into the fields  to Petit , along the railway line to Serengeti and along the front fence to Pomona and then a stop off for a coffee at a shopping center ( new to me , we always rode out and back no stopping ) . I have a lot to learn about MTB riding , following  distance , gear selection , tyre pressure , when to drink water and to put  on sun screen . :stupid: . I had one fall on a short rocky  incline because i was following to closely and the rider stopped . I hit a rock at slow speed and i fell over into an ant heap . I got rid of the ants and restarted again and eventually caught the other riders . We did 51.5 km in 2hr 28min at an average of 20,8 kph . When i got home i weighed again and had lost 1.4kg so was 106.2kg . I reckon its the sweat factor . Going to attempt the same route tomorrow morning  with more riders . I really enjoyed that ride so  i think the bug has officially bitten .

the "bug" has bitten ... or the ANTS ....

I was following Maritz too closely this morning, watched him NEARLY go over the bars as the front wheel dug into a ditch .... and did not lift my front wheel in time..... burped the tire, and instantly lost all air pressure !!!  Thankfully the tire did not debead, and I could easily re-inflate and carry on.  Good reminder why I lug a bag full of tools and spare tubes along (thankfully did not have to resort to a gas-bomb or the spare tube)

The same group were going to do 115 km this morning so i gracefully bowed out of that . I decided to do the  30 km trip around OR Tambo on my own . I pushed from the start and soon was at an average of 28 kph . I managed to do a PB of 1 hr 7 min with a average of 26.5 kph . I realy had watched my food intake this week and also varied my training on my 25 km daily rides , spinning 3 times on my boring 2.5 km circuit . My Wednesday off road ride was a also a hard push as i was chasing a rider ahead of me . I never caught him but never let him get further than 100 m away from . The end result this morning was 105 kg which was the goal i had set myself for December .

A bad week training as work pays for the bike and food . Only managed 80 km . I managed to stay at 105kg  so this week its salads and veg for most of my meals .  Food intake was normal although i was looking after my sons house this weekend so tended to snack a bit as i was bored in the evening . Still one night to go but will put in my 25 km this afternoon .

A good week training and i limited my food intake to veg and salads for my work lunch and dinner . Training was limited to my area riding small gears and spinning most of the time . Saturday and Sunday i did my trip around OR Tambo ( 30km) . Sunday i rode with Paul ( new to cycling ) and we included the climb from Meadowdale to Elandsfontein ( past Value Logistics Warehouse ) . Its about 1.5km long but a monster in the middle section . The first time i rode it i didnt know what to expect so rode up in a 24 X 36 at 7pkh . This time i rode 24 X 32 in the middle section but at 10 kph . I reckon next time ill climb at 12 to 14 kph using a 24 X 28 gearing  . My reward for this weeks work was that i am at 104 kg . Unfortunately my wife baked a trial Xmas  fruit cake with extra fruit /cherries and brandy so i tucked into that yesterday and had at least 3 helpings and one with cream ( my weakness) Im heading for the 99 kg goal i set myself for January 2018 , im hoping to hit it before .
