A mate worked out that he spent R20k on bike services last year (S-works Epic as MTB option) vs R4k on 60,000kms service for his Audi.

Something seriously wrong with this sport, a bubble maybe?

And thats why I service my own bike. The only thing I take to the shop is my rear brain shock...

Insane actually.

Major interval service on my KTM 1190 was R2600 or thereabouts, thats oil, plugs, filters and all the other whatevers they do....

This gets more of a hammering than most mountain bikes.

Yes, big bubble has to burst sometime soon so the sport will essentially end up like golf.

Hi Coenie

Have you done this , or only heard of it ?

I just paid R 400 ( I think ) for 1 dial for my S-Works shoe !!

I have done it, and two of my friends also.

Which s-works do you have as I ended up with an extra set for my s-works shoes which you are welcome to have if it will fit

It can easily costs R2k to fully service a normal shock and fork (together) including parts so the Spaz pricing inst that out of wack, depending on what they do for the money of course

I paid 3k for a front and back suspension service 150 hrs in Jan this year - NEVER again

I see a lot of similarities between specialized and apple

I've taken my iphone 5 apart, repaired it for water damage and also multiple battery changes.

I'm sure the specialized is just as easy...if I'm not too scared to break anything.

That's nuts. I spent 1/3 of that on all 4 of our MTBs. I do the servicing myself. That includes a new drivetrain for the one bike.
