Been thinking, if a case was brought against the driver, and considering the fact that the riders garmin was on, could they used the change in speed data captured as evidence of:

the distance the bike was dragged;

speed of the vehicle post the accident i.e was the guy speeding away etc

??

I really hope they can. This type of practice has yet to surprise me tho.

That should be admissable as evidence.

We are sitting ducks and not worth a second look, or a glance away from someones phone...those 2 or 3 seconds looking down on their phones, or knocking us over because we are in the way, or even being drunk and not aware of our existence...could determine our and/or our families future...

But hey...who gives a f@ck if you kill a cyclist...a slap on the wrist, or a fine is ALL they will get...that is the actual law and truth in this country and before that changes...we will remain sitting ducks!!!

heal up to the rider, well done to the detectives on the scene, hope you are willing and able to help with the case against the driver.

Hi all,

We've been advised by the victim's family that they will be pursuing legal action against the driver.

However, speculation and statements from eyewitnesses or hearsay on social media could be very damaging to the case.

Based on this please carefully consider what you post here or on any social media platform

Any speculative posts and even accounts of the incident will be removed.

The great news is that the victim is doing remarkably well considering what happened.
