Good luck guys, enjoy! Think the water temp is going to surprise allot of people. There has been very few hot days to get some heat into the water following the winter.

Agree with David

The race was a lot of fun. Suffered like a monster on the run though.

Yip its cause that bike leg is so tough, you don't even realise it till you on the run. Which is actually dead flat.  What was your time?

DNS here. Had a family member pass away, so had to rush off to George for a few days. Training has also been sidelined. Guess that's life. Hopefully will get back into it properly from this week and get some good training blocks in before the Midlands Ultra. Really wanted to get in an Olympic distance in before then though.

First triathlon done!

That swim was so cold I think next time I will try organise a wetsuit, fighting cramps just to put socks on... A really great experience! I was most impressed by the quality of the registration.

Well done Triathlete!

Now 70.3 and then the Full!  mwuhahah

Managed a 2h49. My aim was 2:50. Great event. Great vibe. But what a tough cycle route. Swimming drained me which made the cycling even more difficult. Fortunate for the flat run route. This was good to get me through the winter. Cant wait for summer.

Condolences....always more events...

Midlands ultra is the toughest half I have ever done so don't underestimate it. If conditions are super hot on the day you going to *** to use a colloguiai term, however it's a great event. The cycle leg is tough but does give back a bit. Good luck with the training.

Thank you.

I am properly scared of that cycle. 1400m of climbing from a Strava profile that I looked at. I would like to think that it's good prep for EL and IMSA next year.

Weymouth in just over a month!

Yebo and I am completely under trained and don't even own a bike yet. It's going to be fun. Should get a bike delivered this week sometime. Go cycle in Cornwall for a week if I get it in time. Sold the mighty cervelo as I was way overweight and the airline wanted to charge me huge dollars so sadly sold it. One of life's bitch moments.

The cycle at the midlands is tough but it does give back so you work hard but you have the chance to chill a bit too and recover. Every time I have done it be it in December or march ( when still held on march) it has been hot and I don't do well in the heat. My only DNF ever was midlands ultra 5 Kay's from the end when my body seized up solid with cramps. But don't let that scare you. Do the work and enjoy the event.

Agh no. I know you loved that bike. Sorry to hear. Being in the UK must however open up plenty more options for you though. What you getting as a replacement?
