Yeah I've got TRP HY/RD calipers on my cross bike paired to 105 STI's and they are pretty sweet, unfortunately they came with the bike, so I can't help you with buying info. Most likely will need to import.

Tried to get the Shimano locally but no such luck.  The RS is available overseas at a price - 6 grand I think and this is levers only.

Try Charlie.  He is very obliging and will customise.

Charing

Cranks

Mechs

Brakes

Shifters.

Around £750 gbp.

Just the 105 hydro levers and calipers will cost more than half the hydro group. Maybe import a full group and sell the mechanical?

I can't seem to find anyone but Amazon who sell the TRP's-and they don't ship to SA. They're about 260$ I think so about on par with 105 hydro STI's and calipers.

Or just go chat with your LBS. They might buy your old stuff back or something of sorts.

They'll probably know best anyway as they deal with these things daily...

I know Trailhead had a solution that was affordable & worked apparently. Sorry wasn't paying much attention. I already had hydraulic discs on my CX bike. Worth giving them a call though

Thanks.

I think I have the same mechanically actuated hydro calipers on my Crux with 105 levers.

They are ok, kind of keen to try full hydro.

Unless they were swapped out, the GF02 came with Shimano's own mechanical calipers.

If you have the opportunity to get full hydraulic STI's like the RS685's + Calipers or SRAM Rival kit, I'd say go for it!

Get some PAUL KLAMPER callipers.....your bike will love you for it and you won't know the difference.

That price tho! vaaark!!! rather get some Ultegra levers, hoses and calipers from CRC.

OR... eTap HRDs that are apparently releasing for retail soon   :whistling:

Paul make nice stuff.

I had a set of Paul Cantis on a CX but unless you could assemble an entire space shuttle single-handedly in your garage, you would have struggled to set them up perfectly.

Fortunately, through persistence I get them spot on but even imperfectly set up they were better than anything else I had used.

I'm still selling them  ^_^  - they're a new set of TRP Hylex brakes. They're not everyone's flavour as the drop bar levers are brakes only - no shifters. So you need to run them on a single speed (as I do) or with bar end levers (there are a couple of other niche alternatives).

Wasn't Spruit Commuter selling some hydraulic callipers recently? I think he'd just put some on an Escapade. Perhaps PM him for some info ?
