I had a big fight with Miway insurance, I lost. They refused to pay because I was at home when it was stolen. Even though Iv been with them for almost seven years without a single claim.
Eugene Posted August 16, 2017 Posted August 16, 2017 You aren't the first to complain about Miway. I hope you take your business elsewhere. I have never heard of a claim being denied because you were home when the theft took place. Read the fine print and if there are no such clauses take the matter to the ombudsman.

Do you not have a picture of the actual bike? or did your bike get feautured in Tread? I do not think anyone is prepared to look out for every silverback sola. What Tyres did it have? Did it have a garmin mount?

Did it have a garmin mount? Yes done over the phone but they do send you policy wording and state that you should notify them should you not agree or want to terminate in the cooling off period. If there was no forced entry which might be the case then they will not pay out

muagie Posted August 16, 2017 Posted August 16, 2017 D@mn just hate when i hear how okes get they rides taken as it happend to me!!Check out Santam i had two successful claims in the space of 6 months - Roadbike - completely shattered the frame going down in the bunch and they lifted it and after inspection - new bike , about 5 months later got bikejacked on the mtb - even tho when i was knocked off my by bike by knife wielding okes, i didnt fight back - opted to run in the bush so i can keep my phone to make that emergency call - still payed out (after case opened etc, and some investigation, using my strava as proof that i was there etc etc).

Get the wording read it and if still not happy go the ombuds route
