The points on offer for the final weekend are: 1st = 200 (50), 2nd = 160 (40), 3rd = 140 (30), 4th = 125 (25), 5th = 110 (22), and so on (points for qualifying in brackets). For full details see page 65 in the UCI Cycling regulations.

SO....if gwinn wins and greg comes second..then gwinn takes the title..unless greg qualifies higher than gwinn

at 77 points away - troy is only a competitor if they both mess up

This track is waaay more suited to Gwinn...but gwinn also rides a lot more on the edge, which does mean he is more likely to have a wobbly..my gut says it is gwinn's to lose...but my heart is firmly with our man GM

I see Cecile Ravanel is going to give it a go.

pretty much the same level as mayweather vs mcgregor. I'll be very surprised if she does well. With so few lady entrants at the elite level, it might not be hard to appear to do well. But manon's reasons for retiring, along with Ravenel's confession of previous fears, strongly suggests she won't do well. Not at this level, and not with just one race.

Whoop! Whoop!

One half of me wants Greg to take the win, to further cement his G.O.A.T. status, but the other half wants to see Gwin rip the okes a new one.

As for Ravanel, I hope she can compete. Perhaps she's eyeing a move to Elite DH, as there is virtually no other lady on the EWS circuit that can challenge her.

I don't care who wins mens , we can be damn sure that the race is going to be intense

totally agree with you regarding Ravanel

The preview scared me. Its virtually non stop steepness . I actually thought Claudio was going to crash a few times before he actually did. Here we may ride 30m of steeps like that and cope, there its hundreds and hundreds.

Greg's blaps last time out really messed with his chances. He is going to have to ride to win as opposed to simply securing his position. Here's hoping he can do it, 29er or not.

I'm with you on that one.
