Are every one taking part not VERY SERIOUS about riding 1100 km in 5 days

Good point, let's re-phrase:

Any one with an entry, (and going to ride :whistling: ) is welcome to drop me a line, given more 3-weeks of prep has been done and a One Stop is not going to be used for the race food.

I don't have the entry, but how does 8 weeks prep and an Ultra City or a garage with a woollies food instead of one stop sound?

Can't commit to cycling more than 3 times a week till after Karkloof 100 miler(run) but after that can put in 15-20 hours a week fairly easily.

First post may have been half a joke, but am always game for a challenge!

Hi Dave, sounds like a fair compromise.  I'll come to the party with our proposal on a frame if you can get that entry off Slowbee.  As you said, you're always game for a challenge.

I see your proposal as a challenge...

Having recently had my SIR9 stolen, I have been looking for a replacement... That bike did some hard miles. Freedom Challenge, Trans Alps, Lesotho Sky, Some big races in NZ as well as a few EA's... it was my baby.

If I can pry Slowbee's entry could we also chat? hmmmm?

Challange accepted!

It would be an honour to replace your SIR 9.

@Slowbee, watch out!

I will have a look at leave and bank for entry over the weekend, but Jewbacca would be a fine ambassador for that frame.

I'm in the same boat with the Merrel 500km AR now in November, things around that time of the year are looking tight.. (work I can arrange, leave from a stressed missus is another thing!)

Lets put your missis' name on the top tube.  Then she will be with you every moment of every race.

With all the racing this year I am so far into unpaid leave another few days probably won't kill me, that Merrel vasbyt race is tempting

haha.. I know exactly what you mean. We should be taking occupation of our new house on the 21st of November, so directly in between Vasbyt and the Munga, leaving the missus just in time to pack and unpack our current place!

Its called work, aka putting food on the table, aka making sure your family is ok.

Is that a good enough reason for you?

Month end, tax week etc and being harassed by insurance companies and lawyers while I sign my life away for the new house!

I hear you bro... I hear you!
