No persecution at all. Not sure how you got that.

I understand well, don't put words in my mouth or try judge what I was saying when I wasn't 'cause you saw it that way.

Thanks.

Which words did I put in your mouth? Point them out and I will retract them, because that was not what I was trying to do.

I was making a point and you only commented on a very small example of the bigger point I was making, I don't see comment on anything else I said, so apologies for not agreeing with what you didn't say, but I can only comment on what you actually say. All you commented on was my example of JL, which was made to support the argument that we ALL suffer from opinion bias.

And arme Nibali. .the poor oke gets all kinds of grief when he races opportunistic yet Froome is praised for having the balls to go for it.

Even both of their moto tows are seen differently for some or other reason. . Both cheated.. both were DQ'd .. one apologised, one justified it[emoji53] ..and it wasn't Nibali who justified it [emoji12]

People are actually just full of shite.

Over the years Ive gone from a Nibs fan, to a not so much, to a he's a idiot, to on the up. But what I can say is that when it comes to winning a Tour or a race that he has put serious focus on he comes in ready for battle. He is always solid in week 3 of a Tour and isnt afraid to go for it. I give him credit on that. Some other stuff, not so much.

Sagz is a special rider.

No one else in the pro peleton can do the TdF sprint classification the way he does, pick off all the points at intermediates, survive some rollers and yet still win out and out flat sprints without even having a leadout train (he won loads riding on Tinkoff, where it was all about AC).

No one else can come from a (let's be honest) nowhere cycling nation and klap all the big countries with their massive teams three times in a row.

No one else can elect to do the Olympic MTB race, and be at Nino's backwheel 3 minutes after starting from the back of the grid.

He had a long spell of 2nd places and no victories, which must have been like paying school fees. It's not just by luck that he has got to 100 wins so quickly, the oke has mastered his craft.

No one else gets away with the side show things like wheelies, Grease music videos or bike park openings after winning rainbow.

He is a special rider, but as a successful pro cyclist he is automatically under a cloud of suspicion of doping - guilty by association. That is just the way it works. BUT I don't think you can use his results as potential evidence that he is in any way more dodgy than others in the peleton.

Sagan is the Usain Bolt of cycling !

Patch is on the prowl and people have subsequently been misunderstood and words have been put in people's mouths....

And so...

Normality has been restored to BikeHub

Now if there was ever a "not sure if....." post this is one, bravo!

If "not sure if" had a facial expression with leave-in conditioner

Have you thought that this is all NQ has and yes he is meant to win GT but maybe he is at his limit and has to follow?

Louis if we look at it that way has finished 3 GT in the top 10. that is no longer learning the trade, you are trading. His goal is to get white jersey yet Yates attacks and wins white, Louis sits and follows wheels.

How is that different to NQ?

Yip, that achievement is pretty gold standard.

He's showing consistency too, which is a vital component of palmarés.

And any rider, like Quintana, is a superb athlete that can win a Grand Tour. A rare few can. Expecting him to win every GT he signs up for is crazy. So many things affect performance in the top 1% of the top 1%, so to speak.

There is only 1 winner and whoever doesn't win seems to be crucified by the masses. Cant understand that with general public.

Ha ha.. I think a lot of people feel that way about Nibali..

Crafty bike rider..and honestly I love when there is a downhill on the course. .cause you just know he will try something..and really there are a few riders in the peloton who are just awesome to watch when the road points down..Nibali is one of the best.. his moves may not always work and he may crash like he did at the Vuelta and at Rio. .but the guy will risk a lot even if it means losing...and I like that about him.

I hear your point, and agree to a large degree... there can be only one winner after all.

I think the thing that irritates most, like me... is guys who are happy to hold on to 8th place instead of risk it all and try really rip the race apart. I don't see the value in the top ten placing at a GC, but it's obviously a negotiation point for contracts etc when you can say you were up there, as apposed to saying you could have been right up there but you went for the hail-mary in week three of the Tour de France and lost everything.

It's more exciting when guys put it all on the line, when they take the big risks - there just isn't a lot of that these days and the racing is lesser for it in my view.
