My Lynskey frame has cracked and the Lynskey agent is battling to find someone in Johannesburg who knows how to weld titanium

I am the 2nd owner so no warranty.

Ti is difficult to weld correctly.

Why is the agent involved? If it is a warranty, rather get a new frame.

Because if you read the OP properly he clearly states he is the 2nd owner.

Just saying

Ti is NOT difficult to weld if you are a competent tig welder - no more difficult than aluminum to tig providing you have the correct equipment and shielding gas, and a way to shield it properly.

A bit of a highjack.

I also own a Lynskey (2nd owner too) and the frame has some scratches that I would like to get brushed out.  Any recommendations?

Thx!!

If you can find the original grit it was done with, it's easy to do - just find cloth backed sandpaper strips and do it yourself - hint - cut up a beltsander belt of the right grit..... and go gently.

take one of those green and yellow pot scrubbers to it. should brush up fine.

That is the trick, I don't want to mess up the frame by starting with the wrong grit!!!

No idea how to find the correct grit.
