Intense Primer SL build

Time to wrap this thread up! After spending some quality time at the Durmail hub yesterday in order to locate and collect my final package (which arrived in the country on 2 Sept), I managed to finish the build last night. Yes, that's the final seat post height. Yes, I will trim the brake hoses when I get a chance :)

First impressions from a late night ride around the estate are that it is very light and very nimble (compared to my Pyga). Feels extremely playable, and I suspect I'll be a lot quicker on it. Will confirm this on my night ride tonight  I'm rather excited!!

Stunning build, Graham.

My only niggle is that seat that looks like a droopy **** and perhaps a Butcher up front.

Happy miles!

The seat indeed looks very odd. Not sure what Selle were thinking. It's pretty comfy though.

I'll see how it handles, but may try a Purgatory up front soon.

I *think* it's to allow easier re-seating should you get off the front for a climb.

What is this climb thing you speak of?

Usually 'getting off the front' involves a trip over my handle bars and a less than graceful landing somewhere ahead of my bike...

I am glad Intense are back offering of the best bikes around to the SA market & that ride you have there is totally legit.

I had a lot of fun on one when I had it on test. I'm sure you are going to be super stoked out on the trails with this bike.

get the new Butcher Grid in 2.6

I had the new 2.8 GRID Butchers on a bike I was testing this week. The casing was not something to write home about.

I tore the tread area and sidewall on my first ride in the rocks so I think the narrower tires would be a better choice if  with Spez tekkies. I would stick to narrower tire than 2.6  simply because you may get better protection from tighter spaced knobbies on the tread to make up for the casing.

But the new 2.6 Grid is only being released to shops in the next week???

Not the same thing as you tested, but rather the same thing that's on Graves and Keene's bikes EWS rigs atm.

Also, the 2.8 is 650b, no? So comparing 27.5 x 2.8 with 29 x 2.6?
