Lots of narrow winding roads today

Good chance for someone to be caught sleeping and miss an important break

Going to be hard for Lawson Cradock... hope he makes it

Dimension Data worked so hard to get him there, when you watch him from the helicopter shots, looks like he isn't even bothered to try

THIS!

here's the overhead view. from about 15seconds earlier Cav is in prime spot, but just let's everyone past. I don't know if it is fitness or lack of racing, but the sprinting instinct is not there.

he moans about getting blocked/boxed in, but he had multiple opportunities to move up/out and was only closed in because he was going backwards! He was freewheeling before groenewagen even came past him.

here's the full final km. Cav has got the orange lumo shoes

I love the way he switches Demare then throws a hissy fit when exactly the same thing happens to him.

I feel for the guy. Accidents and poor TdF prep have left him well below par. I think some frustration is setting in...

Glad I am not the only one who spotted these things, he was very poor and didn't look like he was trying.

And +1 on him moaning about being cut off when 2 seconds prior he did the exact same thing. I think he was maybe looking for excuses as to why he was so rubbish

Van Avermaet targeted today, he also has to defend yellow against Alahilippe, Gilbert and to a lesser extent Matthews who's all within time bonus striking distance of yellow. I real racing starts today, could be best stage of the race

He is old, he has had terrible preparation and if his showing at Nationals is an indicator of form, is struggling to just get around the course never mind have anything left in the tank to actually sprint.

DD should have pulled the plug on 'Cav and let EBH and a few others try to orchestrate a breakaway win or long range sprint. Given Dlamini a bit of Pro Tour time or something.

I would rather see Cummins, also a whimper of his former self, there.

I'm just being harsh but Cav's form and DD basing their future on it pangs of poor planning and rank amateurism based on 'hope'....

Zakarin also has a minute to make up after yesterdays crash......

With a bit of luck and good legs Eddie B has the best chance for DDD today, should work for them today or even Vermote... if they don't they are just stupid.

C'moooon Roglic! My completely outside bet for the day - not sure 4.6% for 1km is severe enough for him though...

Mmm don't know the course is quite difficult has a bit of Ardennes look to it.
