It was Cavendish's best ride so far. He was perfectly placed on the wheel of Dylan but could not hold it.He just does not have the legs at the moment. It does not mean he is done and will not win a stage again. Could only be next year though.

Mr Consistency again in the placings ( Green all the way ) . Non of the big names Cavendish , Kittel Griepal or others featuring in the sprints . Gerviria the new boy on the block is doing better .

Post race interview with Cavendish it appears he almost choked up....admitted to not having ability to keep up anymore. ..Eurosport presenter was quite surprised that Cav would admit to that...

Amazing to think how much can change in two years.

 

In 2016, Team DD won 4 of the first 7 stages at the tour and Maincheese finished 8th on GC.

 

This year all of those performing riders are struggling for form.

And to day is Bastille day.. feels weird that it isn't a mountain stage.
