Correct. Just like you can build up a beetle for far less than you can a Porsche.

I reckon you should be able to fit an external cup and then you will be able to use a tapered steerer. Did that to my shova.

I bought my Momsen thinking it would take a tapered fork (the head tube is deceptive as its shaped to look tapered) but sadly it won't....so I was going to sell the bike in the new year.

Just make sure the Internal Diameter of your head tube is 44mm.

Thanks for the offer. Its just an idea at the moment but when the time comes I will probably get the On One 45650B. Gonna wait till black friday and see what deals are available.

 

Will try ship it to a colleague in Germany as the shipping there is only about 20 Euro and get them to bring it on their next visit. We have people traveling between Germany and SA fairly regularly so it shouldn't be a problem.
