How long is a piece of string?  What do you want to achieve with the HRM? Just reading your pulse?  Maybe dot down your requirements to help give a good opinion.

Ticker will future proof you because at some stage your going to want to talk to a device that has Bluetooth. Ant+ is slowly being replaced by the much more widely used Bluetooth. So, a device that offers both options makes sense.

No contest, Polar H10 or even H7( discontinued) , Quality and compatible with android and ios phones, if you are on Vitality you can use with Polar Beat / flow app/ Strava/ etc. works flawlessly and battery last ages and is simple and cheap to replace.

I investigated the smartphone HRM watches etc and cannot justify them as i always carry my phone with me anyway so app and HRM strap is simple and the best and most cost effective solution. Most of us ride with our phones from a safety point of view anyway. It will cost you between R1000 and R 1250 for the strap. app is free.

Which part of Ant+ HRM recommendation did you miss in reading?  Just in case you did miss it... see title pf thread ;)  All the Polar is bluetooth and very particular to Polar as well.

OP think he stated in another thread that he has a Garmin, so requires ANT+ and not Bluetooth which is what Polar is

yeah. the BT is nice as it does add options. But I want ant+ for the garmin gear. Nice to keep eye on garmin on handle bar halfway up the hill to know if I am busy killing myself rather than pulling over to take my phone from the backpack :D ;)

tikr sounds like the option. Best price i see is 799... Sounds good?

For what it is worth seeingly that you have ordered already I recently bought a Wahoo Ticker X. Use it in conjuction with Strava.

I am still learning but it gives me all the data I require.

also have a tickr X waiting at home, a few nice features over the normal tickr
