And I found a volunteer to do my next fitment.

Let me know when the fitment is getting done. Made a royal mess of mine. Keen to learn some better technique.

Hopefully you did it the right way and started at the bottom / bar end plugs?

As from your picture it appears the overlaps starting at the end plugs are to close to each other... ^_^

I will be leaving this thread now...

My Technique.

  1. Take bike to shop
  2. Pick out some new tape (Deda currently in use)
  3. hand bike to mechanic
  4. Pick up bike the following day
  5. Hand card from wallet to guy
  6. He does something with the card
  7. punch in pin
  8. Enjoy.

I got some supacaz 2tone tape and I had to re-wrap it about 3 times a side to get the color changing right at the shifters, so I had to cut a piece off before I can start and then cut a massive piece off after its done. I ride 42cm bars so its impossible that there couldnt be enough on a roll

Love mine. Running a 44 Ergo bar and had enough tape. Im a bit OCD so It's wrapped pretry tight and equally spaced. Mind you I had a good friend do mine and he s pretty good with it. If I had done it I would've taken a whole day to make sure it's perfect. Sorry ro hear you had some badluck.

Well, I posted the pics. I kept the overlap small, smaller than I did for my Fizik tape. And still I did not get it right. Re-wrapped about 3 times to get it almost acceptable.

How wide is the bar?

As a side note, there is nothing as satisfying as wrapping bar tape. I always save it for last...

46 cm.
