I read somewhere that he had some issues with allergies and were off the bike for most of the run up to the Tour. He also had to fill gaps in rosters where non-european riders had visa issues which messed with his racing calender.

Funny how he and Daniel (who didnt get a ride after being in the dots) drop off. Almost like it was by design....

I'm willing to give the man one bad year - if next year is the same as this year then you and I will be on the same page...

Don't be that typical Springbok supporter :-)

Yes

Anyway I’m hoping LM continues improving during the Vuelta and can move into the top 10 on GC

I still remember Luigi Maincheeze and his superb silver at Worlds a few seasons ago losing against a very mighty Mohoric

Then eventually two consecutive top 10s in the world’s biggest bike race

He sure can ride

Has he made any comment about his drop in results?

Is something cooking within the DiData camp that jus affecting his performance?

He has actually indicated earlier this year that he had some bug.

He looks to be getting better currently in Vuelta, If he gets into Top 15 after losing that 90 seconds due to time lost on the flat stage after the crash I think he is on track again.

We will just have to see what happens in the next two weeks, he needs to make up time in the long climbs and hopefully not loose to much time on the TT.

Ben King just liked this Tweet [emoji5]

Maybe he'll wear adult size socks tomorrow?

I see your Ben King like and raise you a Viviani like[emoji6].

Must’ve missed this headline somewhere

Thnx Cheese

Ben King’s exploits would’ve boosted the team big time

It’s been one helluva tough season

Damn! I thought he was younger than 37!

I personally would like to know how "he who doesn't age" is able to perform whole year round. I have had 5 rounds of flu this year alone, with the latest bout starting on Friday. Seriously affects any aspirations I have of getting proper fit.

Then again, he is probably not sharing a house with a toddler who brings a bunch of germs hom from pre-school...

Given that Vaaaaaldemorte's DNA matched some dodgy blood bags I think the reason for his success is pretty obvious.

I for one will never trust that he rides clean now...

Yeah, the only ones who actually perform at that age don’t seem to be the most legit.

Only 3 years older than Froome and Froome says he us still planning on riding for 5 more years.

But yeah Valverde has a dodgy past, like most riders of that age.

Athletes are now performing at a higher level at an older age more than they did in the past... maybe someone clever can explain it to us.

I don't like kids either, but wouldn't go as far as calling them germs
