Its like anything new that you get into, you pick up the lingo over time.

Hang out on this forum and you will learn all you need to know.

What you should start out with though is the really important stuff, like sock length for example.

my suggestion.

seems like you have bought a bike online, and are now shopping around from store to store. For a newby and experienced guys, it helps to have an LBS*

It will probably be good in the long run to settle on a shop that is your go to place. The guys will learn your name, talk smack about rides and let you into the community that spreads around good bike shops. You might find that you even get special deals or discounts which negates the bargain hunting from shopping around. You might find that when you arrive late on a friday afternoon with an urgent problem they sneak you into their fully booked workshop to get it back running before the weekend.

You'll end up being rather proud of your Local Bike Store*

Groan.... can't you wait for the proper racing to start... before turning every thread to a Sagan worship fest?

Can't you just ignore it....go for a jog, clear your head and then the small things won't bug you so much.[emoji111]

"Gnar" - one of the most commonly used terms to describe technical/rooty/rocky/scary sections on a trail. I quite like it. Borrowed from surfing if I am not mistaken...

"LBS" - Local bike shop

I like the idea of this thread, though it seems to be taking a turn for the worse haha, guess all that lube makes the slippery slope even more slippy ;)
