Edition 507 Posted March 2, 2018 Posted March 2, 2018 Tijl had an operation today to stabilize his pelvis so that he can move sooner. He now has some additional metal hardware which may adversely affect his power to weight ratio Operation went well although he is in a lot of pain and heavily sedated, but was last seen eating Belgium waffles (of course, what else!).He is one tough boytjie!

Edition 507 Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 Update on Tijl.He is making good progress. His memory is coming back and he has been able to get out of bed and sit in a chair. They stopped the morphine drip so unfortunately he is in a heap of pain.Â

They stopped the morphine drip so unfortunately he is in a heap of pain. "His memory is coming back" This is f..ing good news - brain injuries are not good - not recognizing your wife after one...a world of pain for everyone. Please tell him not to be such a tough cyclist and ask for meds if he is in pain - they won't withhold them.

Probably don't want him to get too used to it for long term reasons as I have heard it is a bit cumbersome racing a bike with one of these stuck in a vein
