Plugs and fork

2bombs and an inflator

Tube

Cellphone.

For big days where I'll have to push far to get out of the mountain I'll take a pump, another tube and a spare valve.

On a serious note, I always try to make sure my sealant is topped up and only carry one bomb and inflating adapter and one plug already in the plug tool.  These mostly get used on someone else's bike.  I did have to walk about 6km's once though but this was due to new Conti tyres that weren't sealing so lekker.

Why carry a valve and a valve core? seems redundant.

I carry :

Duct tape

Repair kit (snott plugs +tools)

Cable ties

29er tube

26er tube

Bandage

Steri wipes

Multi Tool (chainbreaker type)

Quicklink

Pump

Phone (never actually used this other than to assure wife we on way home and the constant pinging is driving me insane)

Money

Medical aid card (i have a spare)

Ice Number

+ whatever place im riding licence for the day

I might add a valve and core tool now and I do sometimes pack my Leatherman if its going to be a long MTB ride.

I carry a valve, plugs, bombs and adaptor, and a tube.

Note when you put a tube in after a tubeless tire has failed, make sure to run your hand over the inside of tyre, to clear any thorns stuck in tyre or you will ruin ruin a new tube.

The other big thing is the actual tyre you run. Run a solid heavier tyre and you will have less issues and less need for extra tools.

Just remember that if you resort to a tube, you must run your fingers inside the tyre to detect any thorns or anything that have penetrated presently or in the past - these will cause the tube to fail and then you going to need your puncture kit to patch the tube, and further ruin your day.

Thanks for the replies so far!!!

So, I've not got a clear answer on the tube after everything else has failed... I think I'm gonna stick to a slime tube so at least the smaller punctures won't make an already *** day worse..

For the valve tool, I found a brilliant hack where you use the lock ring of your lock on grips - remove from the grip, remove the bolt, and use the gap to hold the valve... Nice little idea and would have saved us plenty time on Saturday!

On the plugs, anyone using sahmurai swords and anything bad to say about them?

Please move to GP and become my riding partner. If I add a second bottle of water in your bag I can just bring myself and the bike

O yes i am the local tool shop for my riding partners. They pack nada thus the 29er and 26er tubes.

They'll only have to walk home once before they'll start carrying tubes.

I carry a small pump, tubeless repair kit and multi tool on most rides, if its a really long ride ill carry a spare tube.

I feel rouge all of a sudden
