Can we not maybe re think the account verification something along lines as Bid or Buy

collect all the members details including RSA ID and bank details

Debit the bank R20 for Verification and return it to the new member as a Hub Credit

that way Admin knows who we all are and have all the correct details

weed out the Scammers/Spammers making the Hub even safer to trade

That would prevent international members from joining, of which there are quite a few.

This might be so but i am sure there is some way that it can be done for International users to with credit card and passport number etc.

it was just a suggestion something to build on.

make the Hub even more safe to trade i am sure we all have some great ideas that could work

Someone mentioned the register by invite-only from a current hub member. This seems like a good place to start and it would probably be easier to implement. Most of us here heard from someone about the Hub who was probably a member before you joined.

So, spammer opens one legitimate account, invites all his spam accounts.

Good idea though.

I stand corrected, I just assumed this is how everybody found out about Bbikehub.

I know it is not foolproof, but a quick and simple place to start. But as mentioned not everyone knows someone that can vouch for them.

but these spammers aren't posting in the classifieds and requiring credit card & ID numbers to post on the forum would be complete overkill, can't imagine newcomers will go for that.

But the scammers post in the classifieds

overkill i don't know i am sure that every Hubber will at some point buy something or sell something

so when you do that EFT for 6k and the shox you paid for don't arrive then not all is lost admin can help with correct details
