Norco Revolver or Merida 96 XT

I caught the mtb bug and need a new ride. My current ride is a 2013 Merida Ninety Team HT and looking for a daul sus to help where my skills is lacking. Being a roadie I need all the help I can get. Lol

 

Planning to do a race every 3 months and maybe a stage race or 2. Plan is to use MTB for leisure or resting and not racing.

 

I am currently looking at Norco Revolver FS3 and a Merida 96 XT.

 

Any thoughts on the 2 bikes?

The Merida is just not as sexy ... and yes I know this is subjective

Norco are doing a lot of things very right. I was so keen for a 29'r Sight until I came across the Orange... and couldn't fond one any where. Evans or Merlin were clearing  out 2017 stock at great prices swell.

Meh-ride is reliable, standard issue decent bikes. I own a One-Twenty, which has been going strong for about 4 years without skipping a beat. But they are everywhere and seriously lacking excitement!

 

If it was me, I'd be on the Norco in a heartbeat!!

Norco all the way. Nothing wrong with the Merida, as mentioned it's just meh.

 

Norco on the other hand is a serious looker of a bike. No competition if you ask me.

Might be if you're region is SA. switch it to UK and most likely it'll turn up. Like CRC and Sram doesn't appear if you put your location as SA. Their big clearance items seem to have sold and it's now about 20 - 25% off their 2017.
