E-bikes on Sani2c

One way to weed out a few ebikes would be to have some sections where you have to carry or lift your bike (previously the fence at top of Bowmans) and those old deepish water, rocky stream crossings on Day 2.  .  A really wet race would also be "interesting" for ebikes.

This becoming another thread which is devolving into rubbish, simply because there are people that do not want to accept the rules and believe if you whine and complain long enough about it, things will change.

Totally agree.

My son is 14, very capable mountainbiker and holds a SA number in BMX racing. Over a year ago he got bored on the 20km Nissan type races. He cannot ride the half marathons until he's 16. (Even although he rides 40km with me offroad without an issue in 2 hours). Not once has it crossed my mind to start bashing or boycotting Nissan/USN or anyone else who has the rule in place. I simply choose to do other things with him.

Mostly because there are very well-evidenced international trends for fair competition at a young age aimed to grow sports and keep kids in the sport for longer. There are 75% drop out rates by 13 in some sports due to premature exposure to top level competition too soon, and in some cases, dangerous exposure to intense lactic training at too young an age causing serious injuries.

Congrats for taking a sensible and reasonable approach. Slowly building the capacity to race a 2 hour half by 16 is far more important than pushing in an unready 14 year old. Emphasis on race, not ride.

So if I am riding C batch, can I ride a KTM450 aslong as I only come 4th?

No problem. As long as I wasn't planning on coming 4th too. Because them I'll be forced to whinge endlessly on this forum, and start a facebook petition to boycott KAP shares and farmer Glen's milk products until they CHANGE THE RULES!!!

I present to you the latest Camelbak Sani edition, designed for those power hungry racers who would leave no stone un-turned to extract every last W from the route. Gone are the days of suffering and worrying about hydration. Today's races are all about power... and well... if you can't beat them, cheat them!
