We may be short of water in the Cape but not short of our marbles.

Don't stress. [emoji23]

DON't don't just don't he's having you on - never ever mention the word b---b at an airport you will not make your destination.

All depends on who you deal with on the day and how they feel. If the airline rules on the site say it's good to go and someone gives you grief, then pull up the website on your phone and argue with them. Like said above, there are CO2 canisters under the seat, they are used to blow up the life vests. They just a bit bigger than the ones we use.

I have always chucked them into my hold luggage with no problems. Hold luggage is very rarely x-rayed and I doubt that CO2 canisters would be high on the list of high risk items.

Shortly after 9/11 I flew to Namibia on hiking trip. I was hassled cos of my multitool and msr stove (empty). Then I get metal knives and forks to eat my meal. Lol

I was called to remove my bombs from my luggage at George airport (flight back to JHB). I flew to George with them in my luggage from OR Tambo!  Same airline!

Can one pack CO2 bombs in your luggage going into the hold or is it better to buy at destination again.

Local RSA travel via SAA .

You are not allowed to carry CO2 in airoplanes

Kulula definitely allows them, flown with them in my bike bag many times and I do declare them. But for goodness sake, just get used to calling them CO2 cartridges instead of "bombs" to prevent slips of the tongue.

From the Kulula website:

  • Bicycle inflation pumps filled with division 2.2 carbon dioxide non-flammable gas will be accepted for transportation as checked baggage only. The maximum amount per customer is limited to four 16 gram cartridges. Please declare this when checking in for a flight
