Not sure whether to hang mine on the wall, or put it back in the box for safekeeping until I have everything together to build it  :w00t:

Which way you going with yours? I'd love to hear build specifics/ideas from anyone.

Am truly confused as I'd LOVE to have it both ways... and then also with a Jones bar!

Today, I'm thinking compact (34/50) and a streeeetch on a 105 derailleur to get an 11-40(2?) cassette to work on the back.

Tomorrow???

On the wall! You dont put a Van Gogh in a box.????

I have a "throw together of parts gravel" bike that I will build over. One of the reasons I decided to take her was that almost all the parts will be compatable. Just the quick release rear hub pose a problem.

Got 10 speed 105 shifters with cable disc callipers and a 9speed slx rd. Will go 1x for the flat world I live in. You have to check me on this but I think Shimano 9speed rear derallieurs are compatable with their road shifters 9, 10 and possibly even 11 speed if you want to try that.

Normal road bars on mine. Just have to make a plan with the rear wheel as its a mavic aksium disc wheel with a quick release hub.

I will ride it like this for a while but you know mos how it goes...I am a hubber and will be inspired by bargains and pictures on here to make her even better. Will have lots of time for many upgrades in future as her steel body will do million miles.

But show your progress on here. Start with the pic on the wall????

Progress right now looks like a troop of monkeys finger-painting!  Plan was to take time... problem is, I HAVE to ride it ASAP!

Coming from a "vintage" background, lots to learn.

Today I found SRAM does a Force 22 chainring that is 46/36. Yesterday it was FSA but there the bb (spindle is not the same as Shimano/SRAM) is useless. So I'll look at a SRAM groupset based around something like that, but still like the idea of the Shimano 105 GS (7000 what-what) derailleur that apparently handles the larger 11-42 cassette without issues.  Gear ratios are basically my starting point as I do need to be able to use the bike for some touring.

I thought of Avid BB7 mechanical disks as an option to go with a non-hydraulic road groupset. Which do you use and how do you find them??

PS - if you ordered yesterday, start looking for the courier about now  :D

PPS - that frame is LIGHT!!

???? It will come as you go. I figure stuff out as I go but cant spend too much atm.

I have the 2008 shimano br m545 deore mechanical disc brakes. Not the best but I could set them up acceptably for gravel riding. I'm happy with them. I did read that the avids are good so you will be happy with them.

I ordered on monday so hope to get it tomorrow. Didt expect it to be too light but thats great news. Is there a seatpost clamp included?

Yes it does come with seatpost clamp - it’s attached underneath the protective cap on the seatpost.

Frame is lighter than I expected though I’m not comparing it to anything in particular ???? and mine is small ????

Bloody nice color on that frame.

I can’t stop looking at it... looks like drool marks on the floor already! I’m going to take a bit of time over building it to do it justice I think.

Although it’s screaming for a long outing already!

It's here! I'ts here!

Was delivered this morning.

Thanks Farrnus! This is quality, beauty and passion all in one! I'm in love.

I'm really glad I got one. Joh its a very good looking frame and with everything I want on a bike. Look, I love carbon - it's featherlight and has it's own beauty. But joh this steel frame provokes another feeling that carbon does not. I have a feeling it's gonna change my bike life????.

Hey gogo@ so you got the small. How tall are you? I'm allways unsure if I should get S or M bikes. I fall in that bracket between the two sizes and some brands even overlap the two right at my length. So it's going over to what I prever - bit small or bit big????. I'm telling myself the medium has a tad more damping in her longer curves.

Also want to drool over mine all the time.

PS. Will post pics later.

ok - we ready for some photos of COMPLETE BIKES now

Would try to get the (I'm gonna call it) preliminary build done ASAP. Want to feel it on the road real bad. Hope I can quickly get a through axle rear wheel. Everything else is ready.

But yes! I'd like to see other builds too.????
