I just had a Specialized power saddle warrantied as the rails were coming loose in the saddle shell and there was a creaking noise coming from the saddle.

New saddle was delivered in less than a week of taking he problem one in.

A saddle sustaining that amount of damage due to failure from just siting on it is very strange. I can understand them not wanting o warranty it.

I can understand them not wanting to warranty it if it’s out of warranty or there is clear signs of misuse. But the explanation given is a little weak in my opinion and very misguided and extremely broad.

They can at any time claim when you sit on it that an external force has been applied and void the warranty as per the reason for my void. The current explanation given states that no warranty will be granted when you sit on a saddle and it breaks... like what do you use your saddle for?

The new one I bough’s rail is also loose so taking it back on Monday to have replaced. I am starting to question the value I get out of these saddles for the price I actually pay. Might just get a refund and get a fabric or something....

Jip that's poor taste from Spez. I'm happy with mine but I hate it when one pays a heck of a lot of money and one gets an up yours when claiming. [emoji848][emoji36][emoji35][emoji34]

There is no question about the riding comfort you get from the Spesialized Power Saddles, but from a "value for money" point of view I don't think your winning.

You'll just have to pay up and shut up and enjoy the comfort or cut your losses and look around for some alternative options.

how long is the warranty on the spez saddles?

Probably voided once removed from the box and dropped while fitting...

MTB -More would have been appropriate to remove the senders name from the email you posted.

You know to ensure protection of privacy and all that.

Lastly, keep fighting for the warranty. Don't let them off the hook so easily

Sounds like the story of a rural guy buying shoes from the Chinese store. After a week the soles fell off. He took the shoes back. The owner of the shop also claimed misuse. "Shoes made for driving, not walking"

Sounds like that's the information we need around here...  :w00t:

So for referance. Attached photos of the "pothole" that voided my warranty on the Spez Saddle.

Drove there specifically to get the photos

SPEZ need to send you a new saddle.

So I sent Spez the photos last night and asked them for a official statement that "External forces" voids warranty and that Spez see sitting on a saddle as applying "External forces" that would indicate that sitting on a saddle will then by default void your warranty if it breaks as I would like to post it publicly.

Got a call from them just now. "Spez has decided to give me the benefit of the doubt and will replace my saddle due to them taking so long to resolve my query".

They will be sending me a replacement saddle and I can collect it from the shop within the next week.
