How do you ship Sram products to SA from CRC? I had to get a mate to bring mine in.

There a few ways to get items delivered here & still save money. Friends couriers are good as well.

If you want a lighter fork and your intention is more xc and trail riding then the Fox. The Fox is brilliant, but I've always seen the Pike as slightly burlier and more heavy duty.

Well said. I'd look at the 34 as an aggressive riders trail fork. As others have said it's very plush. Like the RockShox revelation (now with 34mm width) it's capable in other areas but it does go through it's travel fast when confronted with rougher terrain. All around trail riding they both shine but when you start really pumping them up or add in tokens to compensate you do lose a lot of the what makes them really good forks in the first place. The Pike is a great all round fork with great stiffness, a hard hitting ability that also works in a lot of environments. It's was a great fork when the 36 & the the Lyrik were not around & still is but has been slightly forgotten while people were getting excited over the Lyrik. Other options could be - Ohlins is a nerds delight with the range of adjustment & comes with 36 legs as well. Formula are now making some interesting forks as well but if you had the money, a love of adjustment and a hard charging approach to most rides then a Cane Creek Helm would be something special at the front.

Intense Primer

What I ran was a Fox 34 factory with the FIT damper and the MRP Ramp Control.

Amazing performance at 150mm on 27.5"wheels.

Probably not a relevant review as wheel size and travel differ, also never ridden a Pike before.

I have since upgraded to a MRP Ribbon but not yet ridden so can't compare.

MRP or PIke then. I test rode one with a MRP on it and it was perfect. BUT they are spec'd with a the fox 34 so basically you're no closer but what ever you get will do well on an incredible bike.

for what the OP wants to do the thicker stanchion will be better  , so the pike

the charger is really no slouch compared to the Fit4 , BUt for the love of all that is shreddy DO NOT get the Grip damper

If you want to stick to fox , try to get A 36

Have you considered MRP as an option?

What he said! If it is just between the Fox and RS go for the RS... but if you arw willing to look at other options the MRP Ribbon is sublime. I'm currenrly using one on a bike very similar to your Primer - and it is the best fork I have ever ridden. Endless adjustment options (ramp control, independent negative and positive air chambers, lsc, hsc), it's plush, and the chasis is stiff! An added bonus is also that travel adjustment is done with spacers, so no buying multiple air springs. And that ramp control is awesome in that you can play with how progressive the fork is on the fly without having to buy tokens.

I'm a bit of an MRP fanboy - but for good reason, the Ribbon is AMAZING!

Thank for the input,

MRP is definitely an option, but I cant find any at the deals or price of the FOX 34 Factory Evol or Pike DebonAir (both for +\_ R10 000 each) so if you can send me a link to something close to this price I will surely take a look

They are unfortunately a bit more... I think about 14k. If the RS and Fox were the same price it would be a no brainer, but seeing as you can get them for 4k cheaper I'd go for the Pike. Seeing as it's going on a Primer the Fox is ruled out for me...

Pourquoi? What is the issue with the Grip damper over the Fit4, isn't there a Grip2 now?

I see Chain Reaction Cycles were selling Fox 36 27.5 forks for R6200 this week.
