Which hubs are compatible with micro drive?

DT at this point

Only DT Swiss 240S at this point. Any other hub and you need to buy a DT Swiss or Shimano hub. Maybe Shimano will license the freehub to others in time but that isn't the case for this or the next model year.

CORRECT. Licensing agreements to come, but as it's a brand new standard expect this to take, oh, about 6 months to ayear to be fully supported. Manufacturers would be crazy not to adopt it as an alternative option.

Other cassette options? Sunrace isn't anywhere close to the quality of SRAM 12speed offerings.

Actually, it is. The SUNRACE cassette is exactly the same item as the BOX cassette, apart from the lockring. They're also considerably cheaper and last almost as long. And which Eagle cassette? The GX? XX1? X01? NX? GX is reportedly giving issues in shifting, and even it is an order of magnitude more expensive than a Sunrace.

Shimano xt is currently 11speed.

Yes.

Xt8x00 will be like XTR, 12 speed. The 11s system doesn't have the range so pull another one from the hat

All that 11sp is "lacking" is the 10t and then 2% on the 51. 11-50 is perfectly fine, but the 12sp Sunrace has been here for a while.

Yeah, that "obsolescence" is apparent, and real.

Yep geometry clearly has nothing to do with how a bike handles...

Ya, none whatsoever:-).

I see DnD might not be a fan of fashion or geo charts, but he is a fan of having the right groupset and components.

cant ride a bike without a groupset and wheels but you can ride a bike with "outdated" geometry.

I mean I still ride a twitchy 69degree 29er with 700mm bars and a 100mm dropper...

oh wait no dropper, its for servicing ........again. :/

That's your analogy?

Rather Deore on a new bike than XTR on an outdated geo frame.

What a stretch

No group set equals no ride?

I would have thought no frame would result in the same thing...

Gotta love the hub, an advice thread turns into a Brand saying thread and I know more than you, its not Friday yet! Lets stretch this out until Wednesday then we can fight on the day before a long week-end.

These mid week holidays seem to mess with our internal clocks.
