Can anyone confirm if a Rock shox sector also has volume spacers.

The following videos are most interesting :

Interesting to note that these videos show people ADDING volume spacers to INCREASE the progressive feel of the shocks\forks for aggressive riding.

Though this thread was\is about removing volume spacers for a more "comfortable feel" ....

would be good to hear from those that have PLAYED with this....

before you do that, remove a little pressure. Just a bit.

No, the Sektor can’t take spacers. You can try adding oil to the air spring side in 10cc increments to take up some space in the air spring and ad some progressiveness to the end of the stroke, though not too much. Maybe consult an expert like Stoke Suspension for more advise. Or you could open up the air spring and see if someone could 3D print some spacers and modify the top cap to hold them?

Our forks came with the highest number of spacers installed, so we can only really remove them for tuning or put the one back if we need the fork back the way it was stock. Compression adjustment is out with the Twinlock, so air pressure and spacers are what we have to adjust

Not to derail the thread, but I am looking for Rockshox Reba tokens (around 2016-2017 year model). where would I be able to get? I find that I blast through the travel wayyyy to fast even with sag set at around 15%.

jip.

Even down to 90psi I was only using about 80% of the fork length.

I will monitor this CLOSELY on Saturday.  One volume spacer out, and start at 90psi (only change one variable at a time) ...

Are you sure about that? I'm certain I saw in the online user manual that the Sektor doesn't come with spacers, but can take up to 2 spacers. I remember looking because (according to my limited knowledge of suspension setup), I need to remove spacers as I'm not using up all of the travel on the fork??? Correct?

I had a Sektor fork on my Trek. Definitely wasn't able to take spacers on that model. Yup, remove spacers  (if installed and if sag is correct) to have a more linear fork that will use more travel for the same air pressure

Edit: Seems the Debon Air Sektor can use spacers. Not the Solo Air versions

BIG thanks to the_bob !!

I remove ONE volume spacer during the week.

This morning I took the 940 to Bloemendal this morning.

In the parking lot I again checked the shock pressure : 90psi

Rode up about 500m, then gave it STICK down the single track, grabbing some air over the small humps.  I managed about 95% shock travel ....

Then increased the shock pressure to just under 100psi, ride up, give it stick on the way down.

about 80% shock travel - exact same as I had at that pressure before removing the volume spacer .... but it does not feel as "harsh" ...

back at the car I lowered the pressure to 95psi.

We then went to Meerendal for a longer ride.  For the bulk of the trail it felt so much better, while still having shock travel of about 85%.  There is one section of Burry Stander where the trail resembles a section of cobble stones ... those still WORK my wrists ....

I want to read up a bit on adjusting the damper (?.. the setting at the bottom of the shock)

I may even try the same route with a second volume spacer removed ..... not sure if this is the answer for the "cobbled section" though .....

For my style of riding, removing the one volume spacer certainly has made for a much "nicer" ride.  The shock certainly is not "soft" after removing the volume spacer, the travel is the same at the same pressures, just much "nicer".

@ChrisF nice to hear the tweaking worked for you. Sounds like rebound is the next setting to look at. Off the top of my head at 95PSI you're looking at 3 to 4 clicks out from fully closed (wind the red adjuster in clockwise all the way until it stops. DO NOT force it any further when it stops. Then back it out 3 clicks as a starting point).

I did the red loop at Modderfontein on Saturday. Loved every minute of it with the tweaked suspension setup. Interestingly I found the rear end was much more plush and active feeling now that the fork was sorted. Guess everything was brought into balance. Cornering, grip, climbing, everything felt much better. Set a few personal bests on Strava and felt strong after the ride

However, my dropper post has developed some up and down play. LBS on the case

WOW !!!!!!

This bike is AWESOME !!!!

Did the JAVA MTB ride today

The gearing is perfect for climbing.

The twin-lock-suspension WORKS !!  In the ride you press the button and the suspension becomes semi locked-out, yet with ample movement that it glides over the rocky trail.  Get over the koppie, and see people WALKING down insane drops with ruts ... and the two Scotts open the suspension and RACE down the hill !!!!!  DAMN, that would have been and awesome YouTube clip !!

Level out and you press the twin-lock to stop bobbing while putting down the power.

One koppie saw 90% of the field WALKING ... Short, but steep with LOOSE rocks .... I engaged the "traction control" setting of the twin-lock suspension, went for the granny gear and cycled up on the edge of the road, trying to find the last remnants of a solid surface .... I have never spun the tires so much !!  But I got up there without walking !! (okay redlined my heart rate ...)

Just the operator that needs to up his game and keep the pace in the latter half of the race ...

This bike is truly awesome !!

And the front suspension WORKS for me without that one volume-spacer .... so very tempted to remove a second just to test the effect.  But today was a VERY bumpy trail, and I set my fastest average time yet, and I have NO ill effects on my wrists !

Has anyone fitted a 34 tooth oval chainring to a new Scott Spark 940 or 920?  I would like to put a 34 tooth oval chainring on my Spark 920 but it is difficult to judge whether or not it will clear the chainstay.
