I have no issue with them enforcing their rules.

If they said no one can eat strawberries in the feed zones, I would expect them to make sure no one was eating strawberries in the feed zones.

There is no point in having rules and then letting some go because other bigger ones might be being broken.

It comes back to the drunk driver vs rapists and murderers scenario.

If they have a rule and someone looks to be on the cusp of said rule, check it.

Regardless of the 'severity' or the perceived in-consequence.

2 questions;

1. is it just me or is he using a windscreen wiper blade to measure?

2. is there a minimum UCI sock height?

Max height.  Halfway between ankle and knee.  No triathlon fashion allowed.

And that wiper blade will extend both ways, so you can easily spot the middle.

Agreed, but I for one will miss those long woolly socks especially when it rains and they get all soggy and flap around.

1. Not a wiper blade, it’s probably a much more expensive tool that has to be calibrated every 12 months.

2. No idea, most likely not allowed to expose the tibia ankle bone ( for want of the correct term )

There is no minimum sock height rule... Guys could go full tri-athlete if they wanted.

I see they have also introduced a rule which states nothing can be worn that changes the morphology of the body. So those back things guys wore to make them more aero are a no no.

Tim is very confident in Caleb... copied exactly of LeTour website ;)

"Breakaway rider and virtual yellow jersey Tim Wellens (Lotto-Soudal) spoke to Belgian TV RTBF this morning and said: “We’ll ride for Caleb Ewan. He showed that he’s one of the fastest of the bunch. We aren’t afraid of the hills. Caleb showed in the past that he’s able to pass them. We trust him 10%"
