Peter Sagan finished last of a Tour de France stage for the first time!

12:54

Yesterday, for the first time since he started riding the Tour de France in 2012, Peter Sagan finished last, in 171st position! He might have done it purposely as a joke. The last time the Tour de France had a stage finish in Albi, in 2013, the winner was... Sagan. And the yellow jersey holder was... Daryl Impey who won yesterday's stage.

IIRC, didn't Impey ride Nibali off this wheel a few years ago on the Tour? Averaged 400W for 40min or something and finished the stage really well too... or is that old age setting in this side?

anyway, mooi gedaan boet!

That stage in 2013 (stage 7) was epic..Liquigas absolutely ripped the race into pieces the other sprint teams were left chasing all day long never got back..the GC teams hopped on the Liquigas train ..and Sagan finished it off with a win.

Def worth watching that again..

Can't see the break succeeding today, Peloton keeping them on a tight 3min leash.

But I have been wrong so many times, I'd like to be wrong again!

Sonny Colbrelli: "A sprint, but for sprinters with legs"
14:24
“Even if it’s a sprint finish today, it’ll be only for sprinters with legs”, declared Bahrain-Merida’s sprinter Sonny Colbrelli this morning with regards to the fatigue in the peloton and the 3% gradient of the finishing stretch leading to the place du Vigan in Albi.

Another finish built for the strongmen sprinters it seems...
Will it be Sagan, Kristoff, EBH, Matthews, Ewan?

Can't count anyone out at this level, lets see who delivers their sprinter the best.

Peloton intermediate sprint.

Well played Bora well played.[emoji48]

Nicely played by Oss and Burghardt, eating up some of those Green jersey points ahead of Matthews

Yeah and Burghardt just slowed up to create a gap with Bling on his wheel... Oss comes up next to Bling, nope dude you can try but your will fail..[emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1303][emoji1303]

Sagan could just roll over the line behind Sonny[emoji1303]
