Where do you see the group sizes ?

I can't see it but by the power of logic deduction and experience I know it will be smaller.

Last year there was 77 riders starting in AL and 81 starting in BL (Some A riders chose to drop back also).

So my guess is that the group sizes are around 80 big.

Looking at numbers from last year there were just over 400 riders, so smaller groups would make sense. For some reason this race does seem to attract a better quality field than other races, anyone know why? Doesn't look like any wind tomorrow morning and with Botmaskop being excluded, I think the beta for the race is going to be really low.

Weather looks great, looking forward to it :). Hopefully not as much suffering as last week's Cyclosportif - good training regardless.

Not the best photo but massive long queue in CWC today.

We might moan about the lack of climbs but maybe the easier route is attracting more riders?

I really wish the PPA Sportif's can at some stage also do the earlier registrations, think its the one part of those events that is not working too great.

Collected my number a few minutes ago.

Start time on race number is 75 minutes earlier than the start time on the envelope...

So which is the correct time?

M should be the medium route i.e 70Kms - I assume that is what you registered for unless something else went wrong with their number allocation?

The website shows L(102km), M(70km) and S(45km) high-level start times at: http://www.paarlrotary.co.za/cycle-tour.html

I've got some friends doing S after ironman and they start at 8:30, so I'd suggest getting there for 7am if your in M.

Me and my son thoroughly enjoyed the race

- The parking was a breeze and the marshalls quickly made sure that all the cars got a spot (helped by some people that probably bailed) - bonus of being so close to the presentation area

- Smooth process to get to the start

- More than enough marshalls at the venue and on route (can't talk about how they acted to keep everyone in line, but from my vantage point all the front groups had either one or two bikes / vehicles shadowing them.

- The weather was perfect with one a bit of rain at the start and end to keep it nice and cool

The few areas of improvements was not of such a nature that they impacted on our enjoyment.

In short, thank you very much Paarl Rotary and Bouckaert-Soenen for organising.
