Bonus Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 (edited) I lived near a little light aircraft airport in the UK called Shoreham Airport. One night a plane was stolen - less the wings. The owner arrived to fly somewhere and there was just two wings laying on the grass! It was some years ago and I don't see anything about it on Google. The Ouzo Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 had a team building last week. Our CEO graciously offered to take us all on a flip from Morgans bay up the Wild coast to Mazeppa and back. The day before I ask all sort of questions (fsim an'all you know). Once airborne and cruising, he hands me the sticks (trim etc was handled by him). Last time I was that nervous my wife was giving birth. I just kept telling myself make small movements (as is the fsim way), but dammit what and experience. my BIL used to be a trainer at one of the flight schools based at Grand Central.The one year for my wifes birthday (we were not married at the time) he arranged a 6 seater plane to fly us to Sun City, I just needed to cover the fuel costs. On the way there he had a friend co-pilot us, on the way back the friend stayed behind at Sun City, so he tells me to jump into the co-pilot seat. I thought I'd just be sitting there, he then takes me through all the instruments and controls, says he will be taking off and I'll be flying the plane from there. The Ouzo Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 I never knew it was there until a mate pointed it out to me.But when heading south on the N3, as you start coming down from Modderfontein to Linksfield, on the left ontop of the hill you can see a plane.I then proceeded to google it and went on a drive by, it is a Moth HALL. Bonus Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 Was the mirage there when you were there? No I don't remember it. There was a lot of his personal items in cases in the school foyer and photo's of his plane (which was far from being a Mirage! haha)
