I have been in London for a few days, took a trip out to the Royal Airforce Museum at Hendon……8B1CA3CA-1232-47F5-A2BD-6E54F18C5D47.jpeg.29fe35cfd1225aeef5413df3ae9c5d55.jpeg418EC083-7576-4AC7-83B0-8E0F8F1AFFB8.jpeg.c298e972a8a7e7286f304d1dde46f3d3.jpegBE9129BF-3589-4332-803F-284029FB3531.jpeg.b497c64323df82d21cc01cb2f8a12418.jpeg61412219-1853-4EEB-B5C0-32C6AB26A36A.jpeg.cf02e2d33ed7146acbcb5ed77109d414.jpeg39D6D9C6-1B8B-4F81-AA73-42C62A193032.jpeg.1b4cec7399b1501ab00db7f6eee2a79e.jpeg

Wow, that's awesome... I took my son to the Ysterplaat Airforce Museum on Saturday... Shame, it doesn't come close to this... But considering it's run by (very friendly and knowledgeable) volunteers with no funding from SAAF or gov apparently, it's still pretty amazing...  And you can touch and climb in some of the aircraft...

This is great. I did not know it existed. I shall definitely make trip to CT to see this museum. You rarely see types like the Shackleton and Albatross in the museums overseas.

Heads up - Only open on Saturday mornings. Entrance is free, but take ID with you to get through the very tight security... 😄

PS They also sell very lekker boerie rolls, cooldrinks, beers and t-shirts etc to raise funds...

Left St Maarten for Miami the other day. Some fellow caught us departing. Very light take off weight. Deck angle is determined by the Flight Director. We certainly do not have the deck angle limits of the Global XRS! Next arriving over Miami and lastly an old workhorse DC3 still hauling freight to earn its keep!6B2D319F-DBB6-42B8-8991-5C184E97C8E8.jpeg.70764e7d79fffeef30c0bf36e271e4c5.jpegC96364E9-D7DD-4A63-8595-CF0492D13E99.jpeg.030f6df4e94a95968f0efb4932093939.jpeg422DBFD5-91FE-40A8-8CC4-689F925E3B53.jpeg.bd70827854ea35bdb4d269f87579c8ba.jpeg

Ready for our trip to Milan yesterday, just had her washed at 0400, that is the reason for the puddles of water. Returning today we followed an Emirates A380 below us at FL410. Passed him over Iraq. I videoed the down pointing camera as we passed at FL450 and M.90……was entertaining for a brief moment!

747 loses one of its landing gear during landing

Pretty impressive how it bounced down the runway knowing how big these landing gear are

I got that video and another by someone else in the same plane, the other video you see the fire truck a lot more and that thing had been waiting there for a while. Makes me wonder if they were expecting it? Not normal for the fire trucks to be on the taxiway next to another live aircraft like that.
